A Los Angeles-based artist, Charles Sherman’s creative spirit has led him from drawing and painting to sculpture and jewelry design. In 2002 he began creating three-dimensional forms based on sacred geometry to express the concept of infinity, especially the Möbius or infinity ring. He has interpretedthe infinity ring in sculptures made of ceramic, bronze, Lucite, stainless steel, and glass mosaic. Beginning in 2006 he began to translate the infinity ring form into sculpture to wear, recreating his designs in sterling silver jewelry.
Infinity Ring Keepsake Jewelry had its genesis when an art collector asked Sherman to create a sculpture to contain her husband’s cremation ashes. Making the urn moved Sherman deeply and also inspired him. He began to create memorial sculptures that could contain a loved one's ashes and then translated his sculptures into miniature "sculptures to wear", keepsake jewelry in sterling silver.
